A.B. Parker is a N.C. licensed landscape contractor and N.C. licensed irrigation contractor. He has been working in the landscape industry for over 30 years. He founded Parker’s Landscape Services, Inc., in 1999, after several years of experience managing a successful landscape division. A.B. quickly grew Parker's from a one-man operation to a thriving corporation employing 100+ employees. Under his leadership, the company has won numerous awards, including several from the North Carolina Nursery and Landscape Association for excellence in residential and commercial landscape management and residential landscape installation. A.B. is seen as a mentor and leader among his peers in the landscape industry and has been honored as a distinguished alumnus of NCSU’s College of Agriculture and Life Science. In his free time, he enjoys hunting and spending time with family at the beach.

Shannen Petro joined the Parker’s team in the summer of 2025 after graduating from NC
State University with a B.S. in Horticultural Science, concentrating in Landscape Design.
Her time at NC State helped her explore her interests and shape her career goals,
ultimately leading to a passion for sustainable landscape design. Shannen believes that
nature plays a vital role in human well-being and draws on that belief to inspire her design
work.
Outside the office, Shannen enjoys spending quality time with family and friends,
especially tailgating before Carolina Hurricanes games, as she’s a proud Caniac. She’s also
a devoted Disney and Star Wars fan. In her free time, she loves making floral arrangements,
a creative hobby that blends her passion for design and the natural world.


Max Gore began his landscaping career in 2017, bringing a strong work ethic and a passion for outdoor environments. Before joining Parker’s Landscape Services, Max dedicated his time to providing job development training for adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses. This is a role that reflects his commitment to service and community support. Max officially joined the team on July 25th, 2025, and quickly became a valued member. He studied Exercise Physiology from East Carolina University, where he developed a deep understanding of physical wellness and team dynamics. Outside of work, Max enjoys boating, camping, drumming, and playing billiards. Whether he’s navigating a trail or out on the water, Max brings energy, focus, and creativity to everything he does.
Oazie is a N.C. Licensed Landscape Contractor and a seasoned veteran of the landscape industry, serving in various roles since 1990. He has been a Parker’s team member since 2013. As Financial Manager he has the responsibility of overseeing the company’s finances by coordinating accounting, producing financial reports, cash flow statements, profit projections, and accounts receivables. Oazie is also responsible for issuing, administering, and renewing landscape maintenance contracts for our clients. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time at the beach with his family, as well as umpiring and refereeing local school basketball and softball teams.
Deanne has worked at Parker’s since 2002 performing a variety of administrative and managerial tasks necessary to keep the office running smoothly, including accounts payable and payroll. She has worked in the landscape industry for almost 30 years in similar roles. While her time is spent primarily in the office, the landscape industry is a perfect fit for Deanne as she loves the outdoors. She particularly enjoys lakeside camping with her husband and two dogs.
Amy Borsay has been performing landscape design and estimating for Parker’s since 2017. Prior to joining Parker’s, she was a Master Gardener Volunteer with Onslow County Cooperative Extension for nine years. Amy also holds a Master of Horticultural Science from North Carolina State University, and completed her undergraduate work in plants and ecology at UNC Wilmington. Amy is passionate about horticulture and landscape design, and ensures to stay current with the latest design trends and scientific research regarding horticulture, lawn, and landscape care. Her primary goal is to provide her clients with sustainable, environmentally friendly landscapes that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
Britt Parker has an extensive background in landscaping. He has been employed by Parker’s since the late 2000s, gaining experience in all aspects of landscape installation and management. He currently serves as the Installation and Purchasing Manager for Parker’s, and is a driving force behind the operations of the company. Britt also holds a N.C. commercial pesticide applicator license and several qualifications to operate heavy machinery. He has developed sizable interpersonal relationships throughout the green industry and leverages his skills and networks to assist Parker’s clients with their landscape needs.
Chanler Watts currently serves as an account manager for the commercial landscape management division and oversees all aspects of marketing for Parker’s, including market communications, market research, and Parker’s online presence. He establishes and maintains relationships with industry, current clients and strategic partners. Chanler graduated from Appalachian State University with a B.S. in Business Administration in Marketing with a sales concentration. While pursuing his undergraduate degree in Boone, North Carolina, he amassed over two years of experience in the landscaping industry.
Angel Vanega, Jr., has worked in all aspects of landscape maintenance since joining Parker’s in 2012. He has served as a foreman for both residential and commercial landscape maintenance. During this time he was able to obtain his certification to be a N.C. licensed pesticide spray technician. Given his natural leadership abilities, desire to perform at a high level, and attention to detail, Angel was soon promoted to Commercial Maintenance Field Manager. His landscape maintenance expertise, fluency in English and Spanish, and ability to operate heavy equipment have made him an integral part of Parker’s day-to-day operations.

Scott Denny joined the Parker’s team in 2010 upon graduating from North Carolina State University with degrees in Horticulture and Agribusiness Management. He began his career in landscaping as a general laborer and shortly thereafter obtained his N.C. Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s License. Scott’s exceptional industry knowledge paired with a lifelong passion for landscaping allowed him to rise through the company ranks to his current position, Commercial Maintenance Account Manager. Scott is a key employee at Parker’s and a natural leader, with the ability to effectively facilitate and manage all aspects of commercial landscape management.

Parker’s Landscaping Services, Inc., will select up to (1) student intern for the Landscape Design Student Internship. The purpose of our internship is to provide the following benefits:
Duration: 12 weeks (May-August)
Pay: $18.00 an hour. In the rare instances that overtime work may be necessary, overtime pay will be 150% of the hourly rate on hours worked over forty (40) during a one week period.
Schedule and Additional Pay information: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a one-hour unpaid lunch. Schedules may vary when students have the opportunity to perform field work with our installation and maintenance divisions.
Dress Code: A Parker’s hat, shirt(s), and safety vest will be provided. Khaki work pants or chinos and closed toed shoes (e.g., boots, hiking shoes, sneakers) are required but not provided by Parker’s. Khaki dress or hiking shorts are allowed, so long as the length falls just above the knee; no short-shorts allowed. Khaki dress crop pants and capris are allowed as well.

Physical Requirements: Applicants must be able to comfortably perform various work related activities. This includes but is not limited to standing, squatting, twisting, kneeling, and walking for extended periods of time. Applicants must be physically able to lift materials up to 50 pounds. Completed at minimum two (2) years of a 4-year degree program in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, or related field. -The effect of nursery availability, installation requirements, and maintenance considerations on the landscape design process

-The implementation of a landscape design in the landscape, including communication and teamwork with other employees serving in different job functions
-How proper installation and maintenance affect the health of the landscape as well as the environment

Parker’s Landscaping will select up to (2) student interns per year for landscape installation and/or maintenance. The purpose of our internships is to:

Schedule and Additional Pay information: Interns will have the opportunity to work 40 hours a week. This is obtained usually through four (4) days of ten (10) hour shifts, Monday through Thursday. Workers report to the shop at 6:30am and return at 5pm. Schedules may vary depending upon location, weather, and holidays. Workers will receive an unpaid one hour lunch during the day. There will be limited opportunities for interns to receive overtime. Overtime will be 150% of the hourly rate on hours worked over 40 during a one week period.
Dress Code: A Parker’s hat, shirt(s), and safety vest will be provided. Khaki work pants and boots or hiking shoes are required but not provided by Parker’s.

However, those who express high interest, dedication, and passion regardless of academia can be selected. Parker’s also requires the applicants to have a GPA of at least 2.5 or higher.
